Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Bug Fix Causes Unexpected Leaderboard Chaos
Season 4 Kicks Off With Fresh Content and Stability Issues
Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 launched on May 29, adding new content and major changes. However, the season rollout has faced multiple issues, including stuttering, crashes, and map glitches. Raven Software responded quickly by pushing several performance patches to address player complaints.
Ranked Play Bug Fix Rolls Out, But It Backfires
On June 11, Raven issued a fix for a Ranked Play bug in Call of Duty: Warzone. The bug placed some players at lower-than-intended ranks at the start of Season 4. Impacted players were awarded the missing Skill Rating along with demotion protection.
Unfortunately, the fix caused another major problem for Ranked Play progression. Some players received SR boosts of up to 5,000, instantly placing them in the top 250. This unintentional bonus disrupted the competitive integrity of the leaderboard overnight.
Community Reacts to Warzone’s Latest Ranked Play Controversy
Players and streamers quickly voiced concerns about the Warzone Ranked bug fix. Many called it unfair, as some jumped from Bronze to Diamond or higher in hours. CharlieIntel and others posted about the issue across social platforms.
The topic soon expanded beyond ranking to Warzone’s ongoing anti-cheat problems. Some players demanded better systems, with one even suggesting a paid version with true anti-cheat. Critics also claimed the top 250 leaderboard includes cheaters and boosters regularly.

Despite the Warzone Ranked bug controversy, excitement for Black Ops 6 remains strong. However, many fans are already turning their focus to the newly revealed Black Ops 7. As the hype grows, developers may soon move resources to the upcoming title.
