Once the deal was confirmed, RAM prices began rising instantly. A DDR5-6000 2x16GB kit that cost $90 in September now costs $290. That is more than three times the original price.
DDR4 prices have also risen, but not at the same rate. DDR5 kits are seeing the most dramatic jumps. Retailers like Micro Center have removed fixed pricing from shelves. Customers now need to speak with sales staff to check live pricing.
