Ubisoft Hit by Another Hack as Rainbow Six Siege Players Get Banned
Rainbow Six Siege Hack Triggers Mass Bans
Ubisoft appears to have suffered another major security breach. A new Rainbow Six Siege hack has reportedly caused players to receive unexpected 67-day bans.
This incident follows closely after Ubisoft restored Siege servers on December 27. The company had taken servers offline due to a previous hacking attempt. It remains unclear whether this is a new breach or a leftover exposure from the earlier attack.
Rainbow Six Siege Remains a Huge Target
Rainbow Six Siege continues to attract a massive player base. Even after nearly ten years, the game regularly exceeds 50,000 concurrent players on Steam.
A game of this scale often attracts hackers. However, two incidents within a single week have raised serious concerns about Ubisoft’s server security.
Players Report 67-Day Bans Linked to a Meme
Reports from players began surfacing across social media. X user vx-underground stated that Siege servers had been compromised again.
Affected players logged in to find a 67-day ban on their accounts. The ban reason often cited a “Harassment Offense,” even for players with no violations. The number 67 strongly references the popular “6 7” meme, which many believe confirms the Rainbow Six Siege hack.
Ubisoft Server Status Shows Major Outages
Ubisoft’s official server status page adds weight to these claims. The page currently lists multiple unplanned issues across all platforms.
Connectivity appears degraded. Authentication, matchmaking, and the in-game store are fully down. Some players also report receiving a “synchronization failed” error while attempting to log in.
This Is the Second Hack in One Week
Ubisoft previously took Siege servers offline on December 27. That earlier hack impacted the in-game marketplace. Some players received large amounts of store credits. Developer-only skins also appeared temporarily. Ubisoft later rolled back those transactions but avoided banning affected players.
Another Shutdown May Be Incoming
Ubisoft restored servers on December 28. Players then reported long login queues and slower authentication. Now, just days later, another server shutdown seems possible. Ubisoft has not yet released an official statement about the bans. Most players expect the company to lift the 67-day bans once the issue is resolved.
Hack Arrives During a Major In-Game Event
This incident arrives at a bad time for Siege. Ubisoft recently launched an Attack on Titan crossover. The event lets players equip Amaru with Mikasa Ackerman cosmetics. Operation Tenfold Pursuit also launched, offering rewards through daily challenges. Banned players risk missing out on these limited-time items.
Ubisoft Faces Pressure to Act Quickly
Players affected by the Rainbow Six Siege hack now wait for official clarification. Given the circumstances, Ubisoft will likely restore access without enforcing the full ban period. Still, repeated breaches damage player trust. Ubisoft now faces growing pressure to secure its servers and prevent future incidents.
