Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Confirms New Double XP Weekend
Another Double XP Weekend Is Coming Soon
Treyarch Studios has confirmed another Double XP event for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Players will earn double Level XP, Weapon XP, and Gobblegums during the event.
This marks the fourth Double XP weekend since the game launched. Activision continues to offer frequent XP boosts to keep players engaged.
Black Ops 7 Launched Last Month
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 released on November 14. The game launched on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Despite the launch, player numbers remained lower than expected. Battlefield 6 recorded much higher concurrent players on Steam during its release window.
Season 1 Content Failed to Boost Player Numbers
Activision released the Season 1 update on December 4. The patch introduced five new multiplayer maps, weapons, modes, and Operator skins.
Warzone also received major updates. These included a new Resurgence map, fresh modes, and changes to Verdansk. However, player numbers did not increase significantly after the update.
Black Ops 7 Double XP Weekend Dates
The next Black Ops 7 Double XP weekend starts on Friday, December 19. The event will run until Monday, December 22.
During this period, players will earn double XP across multiplayer and Warzone. Zombies players will also receive double Gobblegum earn rates.
Double Battle Pass XP has not been confirmed. Treyarch usually enables it later in the season.
Why Treyarch Is Running Frequent XP Events
The high number of Double XP weekends suggests a push to improve retention. Activision may be aiming to bring players back during a slower season.
Recent sales data show Black Ops 7 is currently the seventh best-selling game of the year. Battlefield 6 and NBA 2K26 now hold the top spots.
Season 1 Reloaded Is Still on the Way
Treyarch has already teased Season 1 Reloaded. The update will include a collaboration with the Fallout TV series. New cosmetic skins based on Fallout characters are confirmed. The update does not yet have a release date.
