Battlefield fans, your chance to test the next big entry in the franchise is here! Developer DICE has officially announced a limited-time pre-alpha playtest for the upcoming Battlefield 6, giving select players a sneak peek at what’s coming.
Battlefield 6 Pre-Alpha Test Kicks Off May 23
According to a new post on the official @BattlefieldComm X (formerly Twitter) page, the 72-hour pre-alpha server performance test will begin on May 23, 2025. The playtest will be available to selected players in Europe, North America, and parts of Asia and will run throughout the weekend.
DICE states that this test aims to “verify server performance and stability with increased player counts.” While players will get access to a limited number of maps and game modes, this closed test is more about backend optimization than public preview.
️ How to Sign Up for Battlefield 6 Playtest
If you’re eager to join, you’ll need to sign up through Battlefield Labs — EA’s official playtesting platform. Be aware that:
-
Not all applicants will be chosen
-
The number of invites is limited
-
If selected, you’ll be under a strict NDA, so no streaming or sharing footage
That said, leaks have historically slipped through the cracks, so it wouldn’t be surprising if footage makes its way online despite restrictions.
What Is Battlefield Labs?
Battlefield Labs is DICE’s dedicated player feedback system, started in March 2025. It aimed at collecting real-world input from select gamers during development. According to DICE, early feedback has already led to improvements in gameplay balance and technical performance.
This weekend’s pre-alpha marks the largest test group yet and hints at the upcoming public reveal of Battlefield 6. It is scheduled for Summer 2025, with the full launch expected before March 2026.
