In an interview with Well Played, Designer Matthew Nickerson and Technical Director Christian Buhl explained the changes. Aim assist in Battlefield 6 is based on the Battlefield 2042 system but has been reworked.

The developers call it Aim Assist 2.0, describing it as “very light.” The goal is to support players without taking away skill-based gameplay.

The team stressed that Battlefield 6 is about player achievement. They want players to feel their shots land because of skill, not automation.
