Battlefield 2042 Player Count Surges with Update 9.2 and Exclusive Battlefield 6 Rewards
Battlefield 2042 is seeing a major spike in daily Steam users. The rise follows a surprise update that added free content for players. Many fans who tried Battlefield 6’s open beta are also returning to Battlefield 2042 while waiting for the new release.
Exclusive Battlefield 6 Rewards Boost Player Count
Update 9.2 launched on August 18, pushing Battlefield 2042’s peak Steam users above 20,000. This is the highest number in almost a year. The update includes new weapons, vehicles, and a free 60-tier battle pass. The rewards cover Battlefield 2042 and some exclusive items that will carry into Battlefield 6 at launch.
Many of the cosmetics come from earlier Battlefield games, giving returning fans a nostalgic reason to play again. Players now have until October 7 to complete the free battle pass and unlock rewards. Battlefield 6 is scheduled for release on October 10, so this content bridges the gap.
Exclusive Rewards and DICE’s Ongoing Support
DICE confirmed that these Battlefield 6 rewards are exclusive to this battle pass. They will not be obtainable later. Although the redemption method is not fully detailed, it will likely require a linked EA account.
Since its launch, Battlefield 2042 has received monthly updates. These updates have reworked old content and introduced new collaborations. Past events included crossovers with franchises like Mass Effect. Players who dropped the game early may find a very different experience if they return now.
Battlefield 2042’s renewed momentum shows how much effort DICE has put into improving the game. With Battlefield 6 around the corner, this boost comes at the perfect time.
