RJCmedia first posted about the exploit on January 17, 2026. The creator has been active on YouTube since 2022, initially focusing on DoorDash content.
After returning in 2023, RJCmedia shifted toward retro gaming and GameStop-related videos. Many of his uploads revolve around trade-ins, pre-owned deals, and expanding his game collection using store promotions.
How the Infinite Money Glitch Worked
The exploit relied on stacking multiple GameStop promotions. Pro members could receive a 20% trade-in bonus when using credit toward a preorder. At the same time, another promotion offered 25% extra value when purchasing pre-owned items. RJCmedia demonstrated how combining these offers could generate profit.
In the video, he bought a Nintendo Switch 2 for $415. GameStop offered $385 in store credit for the trade-in. Once a pre-owned game was scanned, the 25% bonus increased that credit to $445. That process resulted in a $30 gain, effectively turning the transaction into profit.
GameStop Responds and Shuts It Down
On January 20, GameStop released an official statement. The company confirmed that it had patched the glitch and updated its trade-in promotions. GameStop addressed the situation with humor while making its stance clear. The statement noted that the system no longer allows customers to turn basic math into unlimited store credit. The company also reminded customers that its stores are not “infinite money printers.”
